FRIEDA VAN DE POLL

I paint, I draw, I wield my scissors and needles and I make objects.

Trained in my hometown Amsterdam, Holland, at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, I am based in England, Oxford and Coventry since 2004.

In my work I create a habitat that has a fairytale atmosphere, populated by weird and wonderful composites of ceramics and textiles, and collages of cuttings from my life on watercolours.

I am one of three founding directors of Holyhead Studios, a non for profit organisation for the arts in Coventry.

I have extensive experience in teaching art, specialising in watercolours and life drawing, to (young) adults at institutions like Coventry University, Herbert Art Gallery & Museum, Adult Education, Pilgrims Teacher Training. I hold a teaching qualification in Higher Education.
